Read the second part (1939-1945) of "Summary of the History of the Holocaust in Two Main Sections" and answer the following questions in complete sentences. Your work will be collected tomorrow.

1. When and how did World War II begin?
2. Describe Hitler’s “euthanasia” program.
3. Which countries were allies of Germany during WWII? Which countries were opposed to Germany during WWII?
4. What was the purpose of the Einsatzgruppen?
5. What happened in the concentration camps during the WWII?
6. What were “ghettos” and what happened in them?
7. How did the Germans move to eliminate the ghettos? Describe these sites.
8. Describe at least three events that took place at Auchwitz-Birkenau.
9. Describe two examples of resistance.
10. What did the SS try to do in late 1944? What happened in May of 1945?

5. Make a list of at least five measures taken against the Jews of Germany and other “undesirables” in the early part (1933-1939) of Hitler’s rule.

If you missed the Macbeth essay exam that was given on Tuesday, December 23rd and you did not tell me in advance, you must complete this assignment and give it to me on Monday, January 5th with a note from home explaining your absence from school.Add Image If you do not have the essay AND a note on the 5th, you will automatically get a zero for this exam. If the reason for your absence does not meet the criteria for a makeup essay, you will automatically get a zero for this exam.
